Landscapes

of my digital and analog lives. Both are devices to examine and inspire one another.

I am currently, and have in the past, created digital mash-ups of drawings within my sketchbooks. Pages taken from disparate experiences, combined, they show what I have learned and seen. These are the landscapes which I have shared with you.

With each new experience we allow ourselves, there is possibility for self-examination and improvement. As our lives are split between the screen on which you read these words and everything else around it, I am embarking on a study of the possibility of each.

I will document the organization of these efforts on this blog.

Next Steps:

Digital

The choreography within technology:

A view of an urban landscape minus architecture, showing only the mechanics: elevators, mass transit, appliances, electrical wires. This choreography of the contained fire.

Baton Twirling:

First person, complete with the blinks that allow us to understand what is happening, a story within a website where the individual's decisions and movements dictate what happens next.

Sketchbooks:

What to do with these?

Photography:

Illustration of America as the landing page: exploration based photography, share what I saw in each city. Combine with maps or exact coordinates?

Analog

Observations:

I wrote: Furiously, he wrote down her every feature. Every movement, a judgement.

Man with pen pocket exploding, highlighting everything on the page.

Home where I write this, where you might read this, where you undress the outside and others. Where muscles relax. How does it affect someone without their own space. When the public space is your private space. Meet more of the homeless in Golden Gate Park.
Graffiti:

Transparencies on a window.

Draw in freshly laid concrete. Freshly lay concrete.
